Malaysia Cup Semi-Final (1st Leg) Preview | Selangor FC vs Kuching City FC | We Must Defend the Red Giants’ Fortress

Selangor FC will face Kuching City FC in the first leg of the Malaysia Cup semi-final tonight at Stadium MBPJ, Kelana Jaya, with kick-off scheduled for 8:15pm.

The Red Giants have been in impressive form throughout this season’s Malaysia Cup campaign. In the Round of 16, Selangor secured a commanding 12-1 aggregate victory over Malaysian University, following 3-1 and 9-0 wins across both legs. That strong momentum continued into the quarter-finals, where Selangor overcame Negeri Sembilan FC with a 6-3 aggregate scoreline, winning 4-0 at home before sealing progression with a 3-2 victory away.

Head Coach Kim Pan-gon believes the team is ready to deliver a strong performance despite the short preparation period.

“Preparation time has been limited, but we have made the most of it, especially with the return of our national players. Mentally, we need to stay focused on our game plan, understanding and communication. A few players have minor injuries, but that is not an obstacle for us to perform well. In the previous match, we started strongly but conceded late goals. This time, we are determined not to repeat that and to return to our best level,” he explained.

Speaking of the opposition team, he respect them and expect a tough challenge from Kuching City FC,

“Kuching City are a strong and well-balanced team, and we respect them. They have good individual quality, particularly in attack. However, we believe in our players’ ability to rise to the challenge. Playing at home is an advantage for us, and with the support of our fans, we aim to defend our fortress,” he added.

Red Giants supporters are encouraged to fill Stadium MBPJ tonight and show their full support to the team. Get your tickets now and be part of the atmosphere.

The Selangor FC management wishes the team the very best in this first-leg semi-final clash. Let’s defend our home, Red Giants!
